Galasa - just 'ow long will it take?

After 4 years we've decided to apply to Galasa
We know that Galasa will come out and see if it feasible [even though its up a mountain our neighbour who's 200m's away has it so, .................]
We also know that a plumber needs to be sourced but, and its a big but, anyone know just how long it'd take to do or is this a silly question and we just have to wait and wait .

Reason for all this is that the guy we buy water from once a month is 86 and if he snuffs it we be buggered so, hedging our bets Galasa is our best idea ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We'RE still getting the house looking its best and Galasa is a priority , so the name of the plumber etc would be great.
