Not in my experience - I tried to use the main motorway 2 years ago and it was closed due to snow

I've got to agree with Geoff (although we had a lucky experience with the cards when we applied years ago, in and out in 10 mins)

This country has got to do something about its bureaucracy and the inconsistencies surrounding it......never once have I been asked for proof of empadronmiento (scuse spelling) whatever I've applied for.

Have to agree with you the Almeria-go.
Spain is , roughly, 20 years behind regarding PC usage in its day to day running of the country's administration.
Classic case recently for us was when we enquired about the annual house tax?
Lots of hitting of keys on the Ayuntamientos' PC by there happy smiley staff member   eventually the outcome was 'No, your house does not exist!'
As you can imagine we were somewhat startled at this as her 'Campo casa' is about 40feet from our villa ! .
After some more discussion and ' Yes ! it does exist and , er, you're our neighbour [weekends only] she shrugged her shoulders and, in a very Gallic manner informed us that we were to return next year?

    all we wanted to ascertain was how much would we have shell out . Here's to 2010- 11- 12 .................25

As many of you seem to have completed your residencia applications recently can you tell me:-

1) The form (EX-16) only has space for details of myslef and Frankie. Do we have to apply for the children or is this not necessary as they are under 21?

2) Do I apply for "Certificado Registro residente comunitario" or "Certificado Registro residente counitario permanente"?

3) How much do I have to pay and where - any bank or on in particular?

4) What other documents are required?

I would get help from an asesor, it's best not to risk doing these things wrong because they will take your money and then reject it if it's not 100% correct.
